Poem: My Addiction

My Addiction

Frustration
My addiction
Mine to covet and desire,
It fills my lungs with sustenance
Releasing endorphins so satisfying
Its passion I need
I crave
I whore for to stoke this unquenchable fire

I seep with justification
My power supersedes the incalculable 10,000 exponent,
Irreverent I need not your plebian opinion
For I am the righteous,
With my sword I have slayed the mendacious dragon
I am just
Now
If only to exist in this fleeting moment.

Still I confess,
Through filled this secret haunts me
Inside my heart remains empty
Cold,
Hollow and impure,
Echoes of loneliness reverberate between chambers once filled
Venous pathways flow shallow
Leaving my soul insecure and demure.

I want to live
My soul forbearance is due
This drug must shake
I suffocate no longer,
Exhale
Expunge
Pushing outward toxicity
Reborn
Revived
Breath one
I now take in Your soul healing magnificence and wonder.
